Using Advanced Search

The second method of searching for Buy Opportunities is to use Advanced Search.

To reach the Advanced Search window, use the Buy > Search link on the menu or click the "go to advanced search" link on the PartBridge.com home page.

PartBridge displays the Advanced Search window.

When entering values in the search window fields, note the following:

• If the Exact Match box is not checked, special characters such as underscores and commas are ignored. Example: A_123,45 is the same as A12345.
• Searches are not case-sensitive. In other words, AB123 is the same as ab123.
• For multiple character placeholders, use an asterisk (*). Example: A123* will find A123456, A12345678, etc.
• For a single character placeholder, use a question mark (?). Example: A123? will find A1234, A1235, etc.

To search, follow these steps:

1. Enter a value in one or more of the following fields:
   • Subcategory (select from the drop-down list)
   • Manufacturer: Try several queries using different variations of a manufacturer's name. For example, "HP" will not match "Hewlett-Packard" as the manufacturer.
   • Model #
   • Description
2. Select "And" or "Or" radio buttons as appropriate.
3. Check the Exact Match boxes, where appropriate.
4. Click the Submit My Search button.

Results of an Advanced Search appear first in a summary window. Click the link to go to the Buy Opportunities page.

When viewing the results of your Advanced Searches, keep these points in mind:

• Buy Opportunities are only generated once, so results of a previous search that are already displayed at your opportunities window will not be reflected in the search results summary window.
• You can always view all your opportunities by clicking the line about Buy Opportunities in the Message Center or selecting Buy > Buy Opportunities from the menu.
• Buyer's searches expire at 11:59 pm Pacific Standard Time on the day of the search. In other words, your Buy Opportunities for any given day are displayed at the Buy Opportunities window until 11:59 pm PST.
