Business Rules and Relationships
Companies that buy and sell capital and expensed equipment on PartBridge.com have the option of setting up a system of business rules and relationships. These relationships involve different categories of companies with which your company does business; the rules can define varying levels of visibility to your transactions, as well as varying terms that these companies receive in their transactions with your company.
When a company has no visibility restrictions, all the company's active postings may be searched; in other words, all the company's excess postings are available as possible Buy Opportunities.
If your company has established visibility rules, you will have the opportunity to set up relationships with particular individuals who can be given visibility to transactions that involve you as a Buyer or Seller. These individuals are called "Included Participants."
In addition, your postings are available as possible Buy Opportunities only to those individuals you select as Included Participants. In other words, when a user conducts a search of your company's excess postings for Buy Opportunities, the results of the search are limited to postings from those individuals who have selected that user as an Included Participant.
Furthermore, if your company has visibility rules, only your Included Participants can create Postings Reports about your active postings. Conversely, you have access only to the active postings of the people in your company who select you as an Included Participant.
Included Participants are identified in the Business Rules step of the registration process for new users.
After you have registered as a PartBridge.com user, you will receive e-mail notification when another new user registers. If your company has visibility rules, you can add or delete Included Participants at any time by clicking the Update My Profile link on the PartBridge.com home page.
